August 2nd, 2002 -- Here is a quote from Mr. Herter about his upcoming Ceres Storm universe projects, and about his other novel that is newly out, Evening's Empire:

I'm working on the second draft of the sequel, titled (if Tor agrees) *Yan Tan Tethera*. I'm thrilled with it. It's not so much a sequel as a "sidequel". The main characters are Daric's winged pilots, mentioned obliquely through CS. Their trajectory takes them far outside the Wilderness, yet also joins up with the events of Ceres Storm at several crucial points. It should throw light on the more mysterious events of CS, while also creating its own mysteries.(Rest assured, I'm not out to make everything make immediate sense).

At least two more books (featuring Daric as a main character) are plotted out.

At the moment, I'm trying to finish a 20000-word novella called "The Firebirds of Theriak" set in the ancient days of the Ceres Storm universe. I hope to sell it to one of the SF magazines.

And, finally, I should say that I have a non-Ceres fantasy novel out right now, Evening's Empire, which is set in a strange small town on the Oregon coast.
